Knitting and Crochet Tech Editing
If you are designing and selling knitting or crochet patterns, are they the best they could be? Do you have a consistent style so that your followers know immediately that it’s your pattern? Do you get queries from testers and/or the people buying your pattern about stitch counts, rows or pattern repeats? Is there really going to be enough yarn to make the item in all the sizes you want to?
As a Tech Editor I can help you with all of this so that your pattern stands out as being accurate with a great flow. I completed a comprehensive tech editing course with Carol Ibbetson of the Cool Wool School. I offer a crochet and knitting tech editing service that includes checking the pattern, chart and schematics to make sure it turns out as you envisaged it would for all the sizes. I can help in creating charts and also calculate the yarn amounts based on just a single sample size.
I have a real eye for detail, being a designer myself and also from previous careers in law. I will work hand in hand with you to present your design in a logical way which really reflects who you are as a designer. I am happy to check all garment types, accessories (blankets and home decor items) and toys including amigurumi. Pattern Grading
As a crochet and knit designer I am experienced in writing my own patterns. I have galvanised my knowledge and skills by completing a designer course with Carol Ibbetson at Cool Wool Designs. This now enables me to grade up and down knit and crochet patterns for garments and to then assist in writing the patterns for other sizes of your items.

Custom Chart Design for Crochet or Knitting
Using Stitch Fiddle I can create your image whether a drawing, logo or photograph into a custom graph for the blanket or cushion you have in mind. I will work with you to get exactly what you are after using the stitch technique of your choosing. Patterns can be provided in chart only and with written or visual instructions for colour changes.

Blanket and Amigurumi design
If there is a pattern you have seen that you would like to be made or if you have seen stitches/colours or ideas for a blanket I am happy to discuss creating it for you. Prices are based on the cost of the yarn, complexity of the pattern and any deadlines you might have for it to be made.
Amigurumi is the Japanese art of knitting or crocheting small stuffed animals and anthropomorphic creatures. The word is derived from a combination of the Japanese words ami, meaning crocheted or knitted, and nuigurumi, meaning stuffed doll. I love creating animals and characters and have designed Mr Tumnus and Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum to name a few. Contact me if there is something you would like created.
